"Techint Engineering and Construction is one of the most important EPC companies of Latin America with bases of operation in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Mexico, Ecuador, Egypt and Italy and a turnover greater than USD 1.4 billion. With 40 million project manhours every year, Techint recognized the need for implementing a world-class tool to keep an accurate standard of cost control at a corporative level. To execute on their vision of the future, it was essential that the leaders of the company manage all variables across the whole company in an integrated way -- including scope, deadlines, resources and costs. At the same time, ensuring this new approach wasn't too abrupt a cultural change that it would require the company to modify its processes was imperative.
Another Techint goal for its first phase of implementation was to build trust in EcoSys inside of the organization under the premise “A single consistent data report is much better than a good, inconsistent data report.” Efforts were focused to assure the quality of the calculation processes and of the user interface. Moreover, the ability to adjust the software processes to the Techint procedures and work methodology underscored a reduction in the natural rejection to change.
